if a california lic physcian is arrested and put in pc 1000 program can he still practice

Not surprisingly, it will depend on the facts and circumstances underlying the arrest as viewed by the Medical Board. Absent more specific facts, I can offer only that the physician is likely to be called to account before the Med Board (that may take a number of months) and will need to address the Board's concerns. An order for probationary limitations re practice would not be an unexpected result of the Board's inquiry. The physician has the right to dispute and challenge the Board's assessment of the matter and proposed remedy, and an Administrative Law Judge will resolve the challenge.
