Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

california penal code 415 sec. 3

my son is a 9th grader in a special ed class due to the disability of being bi-polor. the other day him and a classmate were telling ''your momma'' jokes back and forth. at some point the other student became angry over one of the jokes and assalted my son. the campus sheriff issued my son a mistiminor ticket for ca. pc 415 sec 3 for telling the joke that ''caused'' this classmate to assault him. this seems crazy to me. does this sound like a resonable use of this law.

No, but I might change my mind if I knew exactly what was said.

On face of it, it does not seem reasonable. You should fight this in order to keep your son's record clean.
