Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Case Dismissal?
My friend and I were arrested together and charged for being drunk in public. Our sentence was to take a YOP and the charges were to be reduced to an infraction. When attempting to sign up or the program, we were both denied b/c we have he same case number on our court documents. Also they spelt my last name wrong. Is this grounds for dismissal?

Re: Case Dismissal?
Of course not. You and your friend will need to get this cleared up, but there is no reason why a minor administrative error like this should defeat the charges against you -- especially after judgment has been entered.
