caught with drugs

my friend is 20 and he was high and got caught with magic mushrooms. he also just started to supply it, aside from being high on shrooms, the cop found a bag of dry mushrooms about 3-4 oz. and a scale. He has to attend a drug class and give a drug test every week. he is awaiting on his court date, but i'm scared for him. what will happen next? and is there anything i can do? this is his first defense. thank you for your help.

Your Friend needs a lawyer. Have him borrow the money from his Mom or Dad.

If he hasn't been to court yet, I don't understand why he has to go to classes or take drug tests (I am not aware of any commonly used drug test that detects psilocybin, the active ingredient in "magic mushrooms").

It is important to fight all criminal charges, because a criminal record can keep Your Friend from getting a job and can have other consequences.
