Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
i need to know if there is a way to change my plea from guilty to "nocontest" in a recent case due to being misinformed by a public defender two weeks ago in court. i was never told about such a plea nor was i given the knoledge or the option to do so....

That depends. In many courts, if the plea is to a Felony, the court does not allow a no contest plea in many courts. If it was a misdemeanor plea, you should have plead no contest, especially if you face some possible civil consequences as a result of conduct arising out of actions which resulted in the criminal charge such as vandalism or battery. If it was a misdemeanor plea you should be able to go back to court and change your plea from guilty to no contest. I wish you well...God Bless you
