Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
when you have been charged with a criminal offence by a Dective and bail was set accordling
and the DA charges you with a less of a charge which bail was a $1000 less than you paid
how do you get your overcharged money back from the court.

If you posted bail, yourself, you would be entitled to a refund. If you used a bail bondsman to post bail, the portion paid to the bailbondsman (which is usually 10%) is nonrefundable, regardless of the fact that there was a bail reduction. That should be in the bailbondsman's contract. That is how the bail bondsman makes his money.
