Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

I was charged with the 4312ECCR violation for having an unleashed dog.

I need to decide wether to pay the $275 dlls ticket and get a conviction or to go to court.

I have the next two questions:

1.- if I get a conviction will it affect me in anyway? Does it affect my record at the DMV or any other record?

2.- What is my worst case scenario if I declare myself not guilty? Can I get a higher fine or penalty? Can I end up having more negative consecuences?

I'm not familiar with the abbreviations you're using ... maybe some other attorney on here is? Neither "4312ECCR" or "dlls" mean anything to me. However, I am thinking a unleashed dog issue must be an infraction (non-criminal) not a misdemeanor, unless there are priors perhaps or the dog has hurt someone? If it is an infraction it cannot affect much; it's non-criminal, punishable only by a fine. Even if it's a misdemeanor, I've not seen a non-driving misdemeanor affect a driving record, maybe employment/background check. If no other attorney can answer more completely, I recommend to post again without abbreviations.
