Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
i was charged with embezzlment, the public defender after speaking with the DA told me if i pd half they would give me no jail time. They gave me 60 days to pay for it, now i go back to court this week. Will the offer still stand if i get a diffrent DA, can i go to jail in this hearing?

sometimes the offer remains open, sometimes not ... it depends what was worked out (or written down) at the time. It sounds as if the case was closed and only sentencing remains but possibly the case is still open. Your attorney (PD) would know the answers to these questions. Good luck!

You should be under the same deal, assuming that you complied with your end. Make sure your public defender knows about the deal, even if you have a different deputy DA.
