Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Charged with pc 476 & pc 648

Ive been charged with pc 476 for my first count and pc 648 on my second count. I was given a paper with the charges and their definitions. My public defender had me plead not-guilty and now i go back on the 16th for my ''felony settlement hearing''. Heres my questions....What is the difference between the two charges? What happens at a ''felony settlement hearing''? And what could i be looking at in terms of jail time? AND MOST IMPORTANT, WHAT CAN I DO BEFORE THE 16TH, THAT WOULD BENIFIT MY CASE? (EXAMP.)= PAPERS,DOCUMENTS,REPORTS, OF THE CASE THAT I CAN REQUEST FOR REVIEW? HOW DO I GO ABOUT GETTING THESE IF THATS POSSIBLE? My public defender is not very informative or helpfull! I felt like cattle being herded through a quick as possible! Please, someone help me out with my questions! I would really appreciate it! Thank you.

These are questions for an attorney, and fortunately, you have one.

As your PD probably told you, you should NOT discuss your case with anyone but him or her.

Good luck.
