Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

I was charged with a violation of 4324 Pc and it was a misdemeanor.
Is this very unusual or I just got really lucky?

You are not lucky. Misdemeanor charges are serious and they need to be vigorously defended. And you need to quit using prescription drugs.
