Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

charged w/ 3 felonies

I have one petty theft from 2003. I recently got a letter from the DA's office stating that a complaint had been filed against me for burglary, grand theft of personal property and petty theft w/ a prior. And i am scheduled for arraignment tommorrow and that it is necessary to submit to the booking process at that time, unless already accomplished. I tried to get booked at the jail tonite for photo and finger print, but they would'nt cause the paper did'nt state ''release''. Does that mean I will be put into custody tomorrow at court?

Sorry to hear this. And you have no idea why the DA would be after you?

Ask the court to please continue the arraignment for one week so you can get a lawyer, and to remain free on your own recognizance (bring your Mom or spouse). Don't say anything at all, not one word, to the judge, DA, or police except "I want a lawyer." Keep repeating it. Pretend you are a broken record. Lose any contraband that might be in your house or car. Email your boss and tell him you're sick and you think it might be appendicitis. Start looking for money for a lawyer / bail bonds right this second. Bring $ to court in case you are jailed and you need to buy stuff.
