child endangerment

if i doze off, and my toddler somehow escapes my locked house and walks to the neighbor's yard, am i guilty of felony child endangerment?

That's hard to say based upon these limited facts. Dozing off isn't child endangerment by itself, but allowing it to happen under dangerous circumstances can be. I would need to know how the child got out of the house and what dangers may have been present before I could even begin to offer an opinion.

That is an impossible question to answer. There are too many other facts and factors that will weigh in on the final result. There is certainly no law against a parent ever sleeping while a child is in the house. If there is nothing more to the incident that what you stated, I would certainly fight it as hard as I can. If there were prior incidents that came to the attention of the authorities it could change the picture.
