Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Re: what city
I am in Sonora ca. I am about 1 hour east of Modesto.
I went to court today, and they dropped the jail time and dropped it down to a battery 242 instead of the domestic violence.
Should I take that or not? I will still have to go to classes and work release.

It would be foolish for any lawyer to give you advice based on three sentences posted on the Internet.
If you are not a US citizen, this could still be considered a domestic violence conviction and used to deport you. It might also result in a lifetime firearm ban.
You need to have an attorney review all of the facts of this case if you want informed advice on this serious matter. If you can't afford to hire a lawyer, ask the judge to appoint the public defender.
