Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
I had a civil compromise in my case 2 years ago for fraud. i am now filling out my application for a notary public and it asks: Have you ever been held liable by a court in any suit based on fraud or misrepresentation, failure to discharge the duties of a notary public, or violation of state regulatory law? I'm not sure how to answer.

Were you a notary then or were you convicted? Some plea deals don't end in conviction, and some do.
