Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
I am a civilian dependent living on a military base in Japan. I was raped on a military base by a Japanese national. I told a friend who reported it to NCIS. They asked me question and I filed a report. The same man assaulted me again a week later. NCIS was called they came to the scene but the guy had already left. The NCIS investigator did not believe me. He threatened to press charges against me for filed a false report unless I came in for a statement saying that I had lied about the rape. One man was in my face and screaming at me that I was a liar. The agent told me I would go to jail if I did not sign a statement saying I had lied. I was terrified soI did. I went in and I signed the statement and they took my fingerprints as "part of the investigation" I thought that was the end of it. I just had a background check done to get job and it shows I have an arrest. I was not arrested! So I went to NCIS to see if this could be corrected. The same agent told me that it was correct any "interaction with law enforcement" has to be reported and that I have a criminal record now. What I want to know is, is there a way to get this removed from my record.

This is not a criminal record. I recommend seeing the base Victim Advocate or Sexual Assalut Response Coordinator...
