Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
commercial burglary
I have been charged with commercial burglary and possesion of stolen goods. My bail was 20k but they let me out on first offense. My arraignment date is coming up in the next couple of days. After that I have already bought tickets to visit another contry. Visa's have already been issued for me to go over there. Is it okay to leave and come back for my court date. Will the court have a probelm with that?

Re: commercial burglary
Assuming you were released on OR, unless the court set conditions such as not leaving the country, you are free to leave, however unless you are a U.S citizen, you may have to answer to immigration upon return. In the abundance of caution you should not leave, unforseen problems may prevent a timely return in which case a bench warrant would be issued for your arrest and bail may be denied. Your leaving the country may be construed as an attempt to flee.
