Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
If I committed a crime, and after I went to court and served my sentence, paid my fines, and met all the conditions of the court including all my probation time, after which I wanted the case to be dismissed, would I have to appear in court after I filed the papers or is that an internal procedure in the court?

You would have to ask the court to expunge your conviction. Many convictions are not eligible for expungement. Even eligible convictions will only be expunged if the defendant persuades the court that he deserves such relief.
You have to file papers to expunge. The court will not do it for you. If you are interested in doing it yourself, most County Law Libraries contain a book by Nolo Press that explains how to do it, including how to fill out the forms.
