Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
community service not complete
I was sentenced to 60 days community service in lieu of 1 yr jail time. The judge wants 30 days completed by a specific date. What happens if i cannot get it all 30 done and only have 20?
I work full time and am a single parent. I can only do the service on the weekends.

You need to show up in court and ask the court for an extension. If you have made a good faith effort to continue to make progress he/she should give it to you.
If you have a court date set, just show up and get as many hours as possible done before your appearance. If you do not, call the clerk to find out how you can put your matter on the court's calendar.
Best of luck.
