compensation
i was the whistle blower in a criminal suite that turned civil and someone has even written a book about the case. am i entitled to any monetary gain from all this

My hunch tells me no but you really need to contact an intellectual property lawyer, not a criminal one.

Yes. You have the right to write your own book and to sell it for as much as you can get.
