Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Didn't complete DUI classes
In Nov 2005, I plead no contest to DUI charges. I had no priors, there was no accident or anything, no one was hurt. I got a fine, 3 months of the DUI classes and a trip to the morgue along with 3 yrs probation. Long story short, I had some personal problems I needed to deal with at the time so only completed about half the DUI classes and didn't go to the morgue, and to be honest, I have no idea whether or not I paid the fines. I found out today there is a warrant for my arrest. Is there anything I can do to avoid jail time or am I screwed? I am a professional, I have a great job, and with the exception of this, have never been in trouble. What ar ethe chances a judge will go easy on me?

You need to take care of this ASAP, before you are caught and arrested. You need to appear in court on the warrant. You should have an attorney appear with you. The longer you wait, the more serious the consequences can be.

Obtain counsel and appear in court ASAP...cannot predict outcome...but the longer you wait the more likely it is to get worse...especially if you are arrested on the warrant
