What are the consequences for not showing up to court as a witness of a hit and run case ?

If you were properly served with a subpoena to appear and you didn't, it's a violation of a court order - a misdemeanor under Penal Code section 166.4. It carries up to six months in jail and/or a thousand dollar fine.
