Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
What constitutes wrongful death against a person
I was with a man for 15 years. He recently passed away he lived at his mothers home, who is a RN. He fell in the bath tub and hurt his back and couldn't get out, when he was finally gotten out he couldn't move his legs or arms. A couple of days go by he starts getting disoriented and his speech slurred, but he said he was OK his mom was taking care of him. After 7 days I told him I was going to call our doctor the next morning. The next day his mother calls me and asks me if I called the doctor yet? She tells me, K. has been stuck on the floor since 12:30am the night before. They took him to the hospital. They admitted him to ICU where he died 11 days later from many things that could have been avoided if he had been taken to the hospital within the first 2 days. He was not mentally alert because of the poisons in his system affecting his brain, according to the doctors. After he died his mother tells me things she did instead of calling for help. She helped him urinate by devising PVC pipe to attach to his penis, that then went to a container. She also put on rubber gloves when he needed to have a bowel movement and physically removed it from his body. I think she should be held accountable to me and to K. for his death.

If you think it's the worst nursing you've ever heard of go to the police and tell them what you know. You can also report her to the nursing board and see if they'll take her nursing license. However it doesn't sound like she is competent enough to be even the worse nurse you've ever heard of.
Since you were not married to him, you probably don't have any civil remedies. But you might want to talk to someone suing the mother but I really don't think that a viable option
