Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
I was convicted of 2 felonies and 2 misdemeanors in California when I was 18 years old. The misdemeanors were for drug possession and the felonies were for distribution. The amount was so minimal: 15 hydrocodone pills and 2.5 grams of meth, but I sold it to an undercover. I was on 3 years of formal probation, during which I had my probation revoked twice for probation violations due to positive drug tests. I did 9 months in County for my first violation and 365 in County for my second violation. After getting out the second time I turned my life around and have since been a full time college student for 3 semesters, and am maintaining a 4.0 GPA and played soccer last season for my college soccer team. I terminated my probation 6 months ago now, but still owe $6,500 in fees. I have been unemployed the whole time and haven't made any payments in at least 2 years and can't afford to. I'm also married and pregnant so all the money I do have is for my baby. Also, I now live out of state.
