Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
coram nobis - does it remove charges?
Can anyone tell me what coram nobis is? Can it remove misdemeanors from a record? I was told by an attorney that I can do this to remove an old misdemeanor from my records.

Re: coram nobis - does it remove charges?
Yes, coram nobis is a type of motion which can be used to completely remove (vacate) an old conviction or sentence. It is not the only type of a motion to vacate and whether it, or some other motion, should be used in your case depends on the specific circumstances and facts of your case.
