Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
I have to appear in court
I am being forced to be in court to testify against my husband for a DV case with me being the victim. Will I be in any kind of trouble if I get on the stand and wish not to talk at all?

Generally, yes, you can be forced to testify. However, there might be ways to avoid this, for example, by asserting 5th Amendment privilege against self-incrimination. You yourself would need to be represented by an attorney. Please feel free to call me for a free consultation if you are considering retaining an attorney in Southern California.

I used to know the answer to this question, but my memory isn't what it used to be. Sorry, I just don't remember.
