Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
credit union pressing forgery
I have a family member who worked for a small credit union. They pled guilty to an embezzelment charge and doing 120 days plus probation. They couldn't afford an attorney to fight and public defender said take the deal. While working there they applied for another loan. I gave all my info as a cosignor. I never signed but did give paystubs and other info. Now woman who runs the place is on a hanging mission to get this person on forgery charges. I do not want to press any charges but this credit union woman won't quit. She wants my family member bad. The loan is current , in fact it is a month ahead. I don't care who signed my name, I just want her to stop trying to get my family member! I have never spoken to the credit union they keep calling my wife and talking to her about this loan. She is not on the loan in any way. Can they talk to her about the loan like that? I work out of town alot and they seem to call when I am gone.
What can I do to stop this woman? She has already gone to the DA and a detective has called my wife.
Thank You for any help you can give me!!!!!

Re: credit union pressing forgery
The woman that needs to be stopped is your wife. She should not be talking or saying word one to anybody, especially the police, same goes for you.

You should consult with an attorney regarding your situation, and the options available to you. However, as Mr. Stone stated you should not discuss this matter with anyone other than your attorney.
