Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Criminal Cases
I have a child endangerment case, which started as a misdemeanor and was brought up to a felony. The DA wants to give me 9 months and my PD doesn't seem to be working on my side. What should I do?

Re: Criminal Cases
Whether a crime is charged as a felony or a misdemeanor makes a big difference in the life of the person charged. For one thing, a felony carries much more severe penalties than a misdemeanor, even when they are otherwise the same crime. Felony charges carry more time in prison or jail and higher fines, and are less likely than misdemeanors to offer parole, diversion programs or other alternative penalties.
And in California, a felony charge can be extremely serious regardless of what the crime was.
