Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Re: a criminal complaint that the district attorney signs under the penalty of perjury.

the complaint alleges the defendant did one thing

But the public defender says the allegations are something completely different.

Under the penalty of perjury is the district attorney allowed to make generic, general and random allegations?

The public defender usually disagrees with the D.A.'s allegations. That's how things are supposed to work. It's perfectly normal. Besides, all the D.A. says under penalty of perjury is that the allegations are being made and that the D.A. believes them to be true. She is not saying that they *are* true.
