Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Criminal Investigation in Process

Hello.

A criminal investigation is taking place and was iniated by my previous employer. I was lead on to it by a friend. The investigators have taking some of my personal property while I was out of town.

I contacted the investigator and ask why my items were taking per legal defense advise because the property management informed me the property was taking.

The investigator stated that I need to go to an address and sign for the property to pick up. He also stated that it was taking because of registration.

Therefore my legal defense states that they are lying and want me to come in to arrest me. Legal defense called and investigator and they are not giving any info over the phone. Per my legal defense they just want to know when am I returning.

I am listening to my lawyer but I am also doing research myself to make sure I am doing the best I can to protect myself and have my constitutional rights.

What do you think is my best plan of actions?

Re: Criminal Investigation in Process

The best plan of action is to decide on one lawyer you trust and follow his or her advice. Different lawyers have different approaches and strategies, not all of which are necessarily compatible. Trying to form a consensus of a dozen attorneys you have sought out for advice is a poor strategy. Sounds like you have gotten good advice so far (except for talking to police at all for any reason- better left to the attorney), so contact your lawyer to get all your questions answered is my thought.
