Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Criminal record removal

If someone was charged with prostitution back in 1994, in California. And complied with everything she was supposed to have done by the court. What are the chances/steps to take to get the charge removed or sealed from her record? Is it possible? Is it costly?

BOTH PRIOR ATTORNEYS ARE CORRECT. THERE IS A FORM TO FILE FOR AN EXPUNGEMENT (REMOVAL FROM YOUR RECORD) HAVE YOU HAD ANY OTHER CRIMINAL CASES? I WOULD BE GLAD TO REVIEW ANY DOCUMENTS YOU HAVE WITHOUT CHARGE FOR CONSULTATION.

Re: Criminal record removal

Thanks for your posting. You may apply with the court for an "expungement", under section 1203.4 of the Penal Code, which will remove the case from your record. It is possible, so long as you (or her) did all the terms of the sentence and had no other cases during probation.

Most attorneys charge for this service, and you can do it yourself. If you'd like a price quote, email me with more questions or call me at 1-877-568-2977 and I'll be happy to see if I can help you.

The previous attorney is correct. This is something you can do yourself, but often times an expungement is easier with an attorney. We can help guide you through the process.
