Where can your criminal record be viewed?

Thank you for your posting.

You may obtain your own local criminal history information from your local police department for a small fee (typically $5 to $10). You must request this information from the Records Division of the City Police Department in person.

You may also request this information through your attorney by providing him/her with a letter of authorization. The information provided will be from a particular Police Department and will show arrests in that city only. For a full criminal history record, you need to contact the California Department of Justice, (which you can do through their website, http://caag.state.ca.us/).
