Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Criminal Records....Hiding the Past from Employers

Hello.

What can I do to get a misdemeanor sealed or expunged?

I've been arrested for resisting arrest ( I gave the officer a hard time getting in the car, I was already handcuffed). This was a misdemeanor offense and I did 10 work days for this crime. An additional charge of under the influence of a controlled substance was added, but I completed the diversion program and have since had no trouble with the law, and even managed to earn a Bachelor degree from the CSU system.

What are my options to hide this from future employers, including local and state job opportunities that I might be interested in?

Thank you in advance for any replies to this post.

Check Penal Code Section 1203.4 and 1203.4a (Misdemeanors) and then stop by the court, and ask the criminal clerk for a form to make an application. The legislature in Califonria has a web site with the various codes on it, and they can be printed or copied and pasted on your word processing program.
