Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Can I be Taken into Custody for a Bench Warrant if I testify on Another case?

A bench warrant was issued for my arrest when my probation officer didn't inform me of a court date until the date I was set to appear. I am testifying in a different criminal case at the end of the month and wonder if I will be taken into custody once I am sworn in? Will they check my name/record?

You can be arrested at any time. Most warrants are enforced when the person is stopped for a minor traffic violaiton and you are in the vehicle that is stopped. The best way to deal with this is for you to set up court appearance and explain to the court why you missed the court date. An attorney can help you set up the court date and explaint what occurred to the court.
