Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Why would DA reject file/case?
I was recently arrested for domestic violence. My boyfriend and I got into an argument, I threw his clothes downthe hall and told him to get the @#$#@ out. he went to police and filed a report. I was arrested next day. Arraignment is in 2 weeks. My attorney has told me that the DA rejected the file and has sent it back to the PD. We have not been able to find out why since it just happened. I suspect lack of evidence but am still concerned. Plan to still show up in court (of course).

Re: Why would DA reject file/case?
The most common reason for the da rejecting is a lack of evidence to support the charges.
