Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Dear sir

Need advice..I had the san bernardino sheriffs come to my house because I took small trailer they said was a bait trailer.They didn't arrest me because I am a firefigter (professional coutesy)and have no record not even a sppeding ticket.They said The Da would contact me I am scared and want to know what exactly i face

You're potentially looking at grand theft for taking the bait trailer. Grand theft can be charged as either a felony or a misdemeanor at the DA's discretion. They'll take into account your record, the dollar amount, the sophistication of the case, etc.

If you were not arrested that day, then the DA can either send you a letter to appear in court to face charges or they can have an arrest warrant issued.
