Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

detained 8 yrs. and no trial

A friend of mine son was arrested 8 yrs. ago for rape he was 15 at the time. he has been detained in a mental hospital ever since they have continued hus case all this time the last excuse was no courtroom was availible his charge was changed to luid act with a minor he has had alot of public defenders and my friend can never talk to them to find out what is up with the case

The parents should retain an attorney to review the court file. If they cannot afford an attorney, they should contact the juvenile probation officer regarding the status of the case.
