what is difference between penal codes

I was arrested for 488pc. the da changed it to 484(a) what is the difference. I am disabaled bi-polar, neck and back surgeries, pain patient and Alzhiemer's/ I take Meds for all. What is [ossible sentence,fine, I suspended community service due to disabilities?

PC 484 is a felony theft of property or money. PC 488 is a misdemeanor. As to the potential sentence without more evidence it is not possible to give an opinion. You mention stopping public service if you are on probation for another crime you could be looking at prison. You should be seeking the services of an attorney in this matter.
