Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

District Attorney divulged full name of rape victim to outsider. Is that legal?

I was sitting in a court room at a Pre-Trial hearing and the District Attorney had the victim sit behind me. The District Attorney came up to the victim and said ''when you go up to the stand you don't say your full name Faith Akerman, you say Faith Doe, now don't say Akerman, just say Doe, don't say Faith Akerman, just say Faith Doe. I had no knowledge of her full name until the DA said it. Isn't that illegal to divulge victim's name to an outsider?

I don't know, but it's illegal for an attorney to tell a witness to lie under oath.
