Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Dog poisoning
The police came, and accused me of poisoning the neighbors' dog. They claim to have video of me throwing something over the fence. They also said that it was an antifreeze poisoning. They asked me if I worked on my own car. I said no. They wanted to know if I had antifreeze in the garage. I said no, and offered to have them look, they declined. They asked me to take a polygraph test, that I could make an appointment. I said I would need to talk to my attorney. Can they require me to take a polygraph test?

Re: Dog poisoning
No, they cannot make you take a polygraph test. Besides, they are mostly inadmissible to courts.
