Re: domestic violence

I don't know of a form to fill out. When the District Attorney decides to file charges against someone they often don't change their mind because the alleged victim asks them not go forward. Many domestic violence victims request that charges not be filed for many reasons. Most courts issue "stay away" orders at the arraignment. If you don't want that to happen and you want the defendant to be able to have contact with you and your family the District Attorney needs to know that information. Sometimes it's helpful to go to the arraignment so that court knows that you want contact with the defendant.

Call the police, see the District Attorney, they all have domestic violence advocates, and you may seek a restraining order from the Court...most Courts have some personnel to assit on these orders.
