Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Domestic violence : The second offense on d.v. during probation based on my faul

My boyfriend was arrested once for d.v. last year (around June). He got arrested for d.v. yesterday and even though I was the one who called the cops, I didn't think that they would arrest him because I initially called the cops for stealing my belongings ( but then they asked me if he hit me, and I said yes).

I know that the second offense would be a felony and since he was arrested during the probation, he'd probably have to serve the jail time, which I really don't want him to. I'm willing to do anything to prevent him from serving jail time and the fact is that he didn't hit me in my face like I told the police officer. I gave them a faulse information.

So I'd like to know if there is anyway to stop his jail time. Should we ask for the trial so that I can testify that I lied to the ploice? If I told the court that I gave faulse info. on the police report, would it effect me in anyway? What can we do to stop his jail time?

I'd appreciate if anyone could give me some information/advice on this case.

Thank you,
