Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Drinking in Public, LA County, California
I received a ticket for ''Drinking in Public''. Officer told me my typical options are to pay the fine or contest. Are those really my only options? Should I contest the ticket, what are my chances of winning the case? Should I choose to pay the fine, what fine amount can I expect? I have no past offenses on my record.

What other options do you think should be offered? Essentially you either admit it or deny and then contest the ticket. That is it! There are no other options. The fine may vary but generally it will appear on the ticket you were issued. In order to determine your chances of winning the case you would have needed to supply facts regarding your case. Since you did not I do not believe any attorney could assess your chances of prevailing. Good Luck.

What other options do you think there might be? You can accept the citation and pay the fine, or you can refuse to accept the citation and contest it instead.
The amount of the fine you face should be printed on the ticket you received.
There is no way to assess your chances if you contest the citation, since you have offered no details about the case.
