Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Drug arrest...

I was arrested for being under the

influence of drugs.( I wasn't on

drugs, nor was there a shred of

evidence to that effect).

Charges were pressed, I was kept in

jail for five days before I made

arrangements to post bail.

The next time I appeared in court

the charges were dropped.

Were there legal guidelines for my

arrest and incarceration?

I'm in the process of suing the

County in Small Claims Court for

$5,000 to compensate for my

inconvenience.

is there any validity to this case?

Is there a possibility of filing a bigger

lawsuit?

Re: Drug arrest...

You will lose your small claims court case against the county because you didn't first present a claim and have it rejected. If you do have a case, it is worth getting a lawyer. Watch out for very short deadlines and other requirements.
