Re: drunk in public

if you can give me the nature of your arrest from what gave the police department "reasonable suspicion" to detain you to begin with as well as if they read you your rights and what else may have transpired or had been said by both you and the officers, our Law Firm may be able to further assist you legally and/or represent your rights in this matter. you sound like a good guy who just happened to run across some "bad luck" and we would like to help you thru this situation to the best of our legal abilities. best regards.

Re: drunk in public

Thank you for your posting.

Because you've asked about what happens when you go to court (or what to expect), it might help for you to about the court appearance.

Your first court appearance is called an arraignment. This is an opportunity for you to make a plea (not guilty, guilty, no contest, etc.) before the judge. You will also be asked if you want time to obtain your own attorney, if you want to represent yourself (always a bad move), or if you want an attorney appointed to represent you, if you financially qualify. A prosecutor may be available during your arraignment, depending on which court your case is pending from.

In order to resolve the matter without the necessity of a trial, the prosecutor may offer a plea bargaina negotiated sentence in return for a plea of guilty. The city prosecutor is the only person who can possibly change the charges, reduce points on your drivers license, dismiss cases, or offer plea agreements. You may speak to the prosecutor at your arraignment date, if you wish. If such a plea agreement is offered, you are not required to accept it. You may still enter a plea of "not guilty" and have a trial.

I hope that this information helps, but if you feel that you need legal representation, or have other questions, or want more information, please feel free to email me directly at [email protected]. I'm happy to help in any way that I can.

Re: drunk in public

You will first be called in for an arraignment hearing (the date should be on your citation). During this hearing you can make a plea to the court.

It is definitely advisable to have legal representation to obtain the best results. You may either a have a public defender or obtain your own defense attorney to assist you through the process.

The information provided to you is of a general nature. We hope this information has been helpful to you, but you should always obtain competent legal counsel who is familiar with your specific legal issues to determine the best course of action. Re: drunk in public

DRUNK IN PUBLIC IS A VERY DIFFICULT CHARGE TO PROVE AND EASY TO HAVE DISMISSED DEPENDING ON THE CIRCUMSTANCES. Make sure you speak with an attorney or give us a call. LARRY WOLF
