dui and possession of an illegal substance
I was arrested for a dui and possession of marijuana. I've had one DUI back in 1985 or so......just trying to figure out what I'm in for......how much does an attorney cost? I had about 1/8 of pot on me...for personal consumption only.....what do I do?
I totally cooperated with the police.....took the roadside test and a blood test....they kept me in jail for about 4 hours......my court date is on the 30th of december......what do I do?

You need to hire an attorney immediately. The cost to hire an attorney will range from about $2,500 to $10,000. The 1985 dui is more than 7 years old and therefore your case will be treated as a first offense. The 1985 offense may be considered by the judge in determining the sentence. The possible defenses to this charge can be determined only by taking a copy of the police report to an attorney, and discussing the facts of your case. The pot charge should not be of much consequence unless the DA charges it as a possession for sale.
