Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

Embesselment(1)

I was fired for embesselment of about 1500 but they say 2500. I am due to go to boot camp here soon and have a letter stating my proffession is needed 2weeks after i leave training in Iraq. It is the people vs me is there a chance of it getting dismissed. They have a written confession of it but i put down 2500 so i can get out of that office, and now i dont know what to do

I don't see why the prosecutor would agree to dismiss the case. Being sent to Iraq does not excuse criminal conduct. Your written confession is going to be a very big problem for you. You need a lawyer ASAP. If you can't afford one, a public defender will be appointed to represent you.

two things... 1.get counsel ASAP and try to negotiate with the DA for a dispo that doesn't result in exclusion from the service...some crimes can...2. talk with the service and find out exactly what would exclude you from the service...forget about fighting the amount..if you wrote it you probably own it for dispo purposes...
