Legal Question in Criminal Law in California
Employee Theft, guilty as Charged
I'm in a bit of a bind. I am an Employee at a grocery store in California. LA County. I have been accused of Stealing $500 worth of gift cards under another persons cashier number. Now I am guilty of the crime, and I had a nice discussion with the Company's ''Internal Security'' and they tried to get me to confess and I held out. I know for sure they do not have any evidence of me activating the cards, but I have spent them already. This has all taken place inside of 3 days, and I need to know if I go back and confess to my store director and pay back the money what kind of legal action I could be facing.
I should also make noted that they said I could handle this directly with the company and that they don't want to deal with the police. I also need to know that if I confess this to them and if they choose to file criminal charges that it could be considered ''Entrapment'' and a ploy to get me to admit to the crime. I need help please.

Re: Employee Theft, guilty as Charged
You would probably be arrested and charged with grand larceny. State prison is possible with this charge. Retain an attorney to assist you in this matter and do not talk to anyone but your attorney.
