exfelon and knife
a friend of mine was arrested friday night be LASD metro div.thay took him in cause they didnt beleivr he wasnt on parole due to all that tattoos he has there was no probable cause.then thay charge him with some new law about exfelon not allowed to carry knifes?? that went into effect the first of the year?? when he goes to court today the offer him 16 month doubled up due to strikes . he said the Public defender to him that if he didnt take it they would try to strike him out??is this nornal to offer deals on yoiur first court date?? he is not on probation i dont think and the has been out for over 11yrs??

That's not a good offer. The public defenders are good attorneys, but they are over-worked and don't have time to spend on the cases that a private attorney would be able to spend. Your friend needs to get a private attorney who will go in and aggressively work on getting a better deal, even if it means going to court 10 times.
