Extortion
Just need to know the California description of what includes the act of extortion, the level of its criminal abuse ( for example-- is it a misdemeanor or a felony ), etc.

Look at Penal Code section 520 for Felony extortion. The punishment is 2, 3, or 4 years in prison.
Also, PC sections 523 extortion by sending a letter (felony or misd.); 524 attempted extortion (misd. or felony).
