Legal Question in Criminal Law in California

extortion question.

i owed an individual money, he then made physical harm threats, then he physically battered me, and then took his money from a loan. he took $5000 dollars over the dollar amount negotiated. does this constitute extortion. he has also made threats like ''if a third party doesnt pay me my money i will go take your truck.'' the third party is a mutual aquaintance. but i dont owe the money, he does. is this extortion as well...and last, i had that same third party come and threaten me for money to give to the person from the above scenario. he then assaulted me for money. and i paid him money in fear. but im sure this money was given to the original extortionist in my scenario. what can i do. i have already filed an assault and battery complaint, should i file an extortion complaint or just add that to my statement with the District Attorney

Keep putting pressure on the police investigators and District Attorney by keeping them informed of every new threat and development and letting them know that you are scared for your life. Be a pest.
